Julie Chavez, Editor in Chief

Julie Chavez is a 21-year-old journalism major who is still trying to figure her life out.

She was born and raised in Southern California but moved to Fresno shortly after graduating from Colton High School in 2018.

Once at FCC, Julie chose to major in mathematics. However, after two semesters Julie decided to take a risk and change her major to Journalism.

Julie’s love for music, concerts, and photography is what got her interested in Journalism, so she figured she would give it a try and see if it would lead her anywhere.

Considering Julie entered the world of journalism with absolutely no experience in fall 2019 but has since served as news editor for The Rampage during fall 2020 and is now Editor in Chief, it is safe to say it has led her somewhere.

Julie is not sure if she got these positions because she is good at writing, reporting and interviewing or if she got them by pure luck.

Either way, she has loved being in The Rampage and is immensely grateful FCC has this program in place for students, like herself, and the entire FCC community in general.

Unfortunately, this is Julie’s last semester at FCC but she is excited to explore what else the Communications/Journalism field offers and eventually figure out her life.
