Each and every NFL team dreams of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at season’s end. It’s a football player’s dream to win Super Bowls and be a part of history forever.

This weekend, four teams and some special players have a chance to reserve their spot in the biggest football game in the world.

The Patriots have Tom Brady at the helm, who is arguably the greatest quarterback of all time. The Ravens are on a magical ride fueled by the upcoming retirement of their superstar and franchise player, Ray Lewis. The two stars and their respective teams will battle it out in the AFC championship game.

It will be a rematch of epic proportions. Both teams met in the championship game last year as well, and the Patriots were able to survive with a 23-20 win. Billy Cundiff of the Ravens missed a field goal which would’ve sent the game into overtime, shortly after the go ahead touchdown was dropped.

Can Joe Flacco lead his team to victory this year? Or will the Patriots continue their decade of dominance?

I’ll take the Patriots in a game that assures to be a classic, with a final score of 31-28.

In the NFC, Matt Ryan and the Falcons are still trying to prove they aren’t a phony to many, despite their 14-3 record to this point in the season. Ryan has a stellar 33-6 record at home in his career as well. One more win may finally prove the Falcons’ and Ryan’s legitimacy.

Unfortunately, the Falcons are going to have their hands full trying to keep up with the 49ers in the NFC Championship game. Their dynamic run offense is tough to stop, and the ferocious defense is unrivaled. I predict the 49ers will win in a tight one, 27-24.

If my prediction is correct, Colin Kaepernick will be playing in the Super Bowl in only his 10th career start. Who was the last quarterback to get to the Super Bowl in his first year as a starter? Tom Brady.

That year, Brady lead the Patriots to a win in Super Bowl XXXVI over the heavily favored Rams. It was the first of his three Super Bowl wins. One more will tie him with Joe Montana for the most in NFL history and may solidify his spot as the best quarterback to ever play the game.

With all of these intriguing storylines and big characters this weekend looks to be very entertaining for football fans.
