    Mom’s Old Town Burgers

The problem with trying a new dining establishment that you find on the internet is that you never know what to expect when you pull up to the actual place.  That was exactly the case when I pulled up to Mom’s Old Fashion Burgers. The “old fashion” part of the name definitely stood out and I thought it was hilarious and ironic that the word “fashion” in the name was missing the “a”. I second guessed myself as I decided whether to stick to my original plan of trying Mom’s Old Fashion Burgers or trying the small Mexican restaurant behind it. I stuck to my first choice and walked in to the outdated burger joint.

I was instantly won over by the fact that the small place carried dessert! Not to mention a half-and-half cone, which I have made a personal agreement to myself that any time that I find a half-and-half cone I buy one and enjoy it.  The place was small and somewhat crowded, but the menu was huge. They had everything from fish sandwiches to veggie burgers to Philly cheese steaks, and a list of different burgers. The man who was working behind the counter was very friendly and I told him I needed a minute to decide on what to eat. He politely pointed out the combos that were available. The list mainly involved burgers and sandwiches which come with a medium drink and small fry. The prices on the combo list ranged from $4.89 to $7.39.

I settled on the BBQ Bacon Burger combo and added cheese on my burger. I paid $6.26 for my meal and waited a short six minutes for my food. The man was sure to overload my small fry. The burger was fully loaded with meat, cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. I devoured the burger and half of the fries before I started to really get full. I grabbed a refill of Cherry Coke before I grabbed my half-and-half cone and left for the day.

In the end, the rule of never judging a book by its cover truly came into play. If you are looking for a good burger at a reasonable price, but don’t want to go to a typical fast food restaurant try Mom’s Old Fashion Burger. Overall, I am glad I didn’t go for Mexican food after all and I plan on going back to Mom’s Old Fashion Burger again soon and introducing it to some of my friends.
