Rams ready for the next level:Four FCC basketball players decide their future

Following a season in which they captured the state championship, four Fresno City College basketball players have decided where they will play basketball and continue their education in the fall.

Freshman Marcus Hall from Bakersfield is this year’s Junior College Northern California player of the year, Central Valley Conference Co-MVP, and Central Valley Conference defensive player of the year.

Hall played all 34 games this season and made 437 points. He also averaged 12.9 points a game. Hall has signed to Portland State University.

Holt Dunlap of Denver is headed to California State Santa Barbara to walk-on the the team.

He played 30 of 34 games coming off the bench. He Mostly contributed on the defensive end of the court. He placed pressure on the ball handler and often caused the other team to turn over the ball.

In his two years at FCC, Webster has made a name as one of the most competitive players on the court.

He has also made a reputation with a strong body and his quickness with the ball. Webster gives defenders trouble with his handles and his foot speed. Coming out of Hanford West High School, he was regarded as one of the top point guards in the Valley.

In his last season at FCC, Webster averaged 5.7 points per game. He was also second on the team in free throws with an average of 80 percent.

As a senior at Hanford West, he averaged 21 points and eight assists. He also led Hanford West to its first Central Section Division III title. Webster will transfer to Western Oregon University.

Ryan Richardson is a player who has shown how much he loves a challenge. He is focused on building his athletic future and his academic path.

As a senior at Clear Lake High School, Richardson averaged 21.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.8 blocks per game. He set an all-time school record for points in the season as he scored 657.

Richardson has received several honors throughout his basketball career. In addition to being selected as the Bee Male Athlete of the Year in 2009, he has received the ESPN Rise California All-State Div Athlete of Honor. Richardson has committed to Clark University in Iowa.
