Germond Wins 300th game in Rams Victory over Canada

Fresno City College Women’s Soccer won their fourth match of the season 4-1 against Canada College from Redwood City.

The victory marks the 300th win for coach Oliver Germond, who is in his 18th year as head coach.

“It feels like nothing,” Gemond said, downplaying the victory. “I’m focused on the season and our team.”

Sophomore Raina Wristen led the charge for the Rams scoring two big goals in the second half of the game. “I felt pretty good today, but the game showed me things I need to work on,” Wristen said.

The Rams bounced back nicely after a tough loss to Cerritos College on Sept. 7th.

When asked if the game plan changed after the loss, Germond said that the team tries to get better and progress everyday. He thought that the offense attacked well, but just wasn’t finishing at the goal.

As for the defense, he said all the film they studied paid off and they applied pressure to Canada well.

The Rams will face Solano at home on Friday, Sept. 14, then on the road to play Bakersfield the following Tuesday. Their current record this season is 4-1-1.
