One down, Five to go….

Fresno City College men’s basketball team put their winning streak on the line while playing West Hills in Coalinga on Wednesday Feb. 2.

With five games to play and a ten straight conference championship on the line, Head basketball coach, Ed Madec is not “going to take any game for granted,” he said in a recent interview.

Madec believes that his players, as a team, should be focused on trying to win their league championship because it will be a major accomplishment.

Coach Madec also stresses the dedication each player invests into the team.”We give a major portion of our lives to this goal that we shouldn’t take anything for granted,” he said.

Madec and his team have been very successful throughout the years because he and his staff prepare an intense workout regime, allowing players to challenge their physical and mentally abilities.

“We are definitely battle tested, and now it’s a matter of getting better so we can peak at the right time,” said Madec.

The men’s basketball team has many tough games ahead of them; however they are expecting their final opponents to give them a run for their money regardless of their records.

Madec attributed this season’s success to gowwwod fortune by stating one of the many themes for this season.”It’s about holding each other accountable, and not letting your brother(teammate) down.”
