Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA) and student aides in the Student Activities Building hosted two separate Earth Day celebration events on April 22. The first event took place in and around Yokuts Plaza, with many speakers and vendors centered around indigenous voices. The second event took place in the Student Activities patio, as students were encouraged to plant seeds in honor of Mother Earth.

Logan Payne, Editor-in-Chief
Logan Payne returns this semester as the Editor-in-Chief. He has worked his way up from the reporter position, and will lead the newsroom with his best foot forward. He will also help the incoming reporters with their stories, photos and videos. Before joining The Rampage, Logan was involved with the Roosevelt Theater Company for four years where he wrote, directed, acted, and worked backstage for many productions. Logan has grown very familiar with the cutting room; hours slip away when he video edits due to his perpetual perfectionism. He is well-versed in the art of film and knows that every frame shown and every note heard makes a key difference in the bigger picture.
His Youtube channel is where he promotes most of his personal projects. This isn’t his first time in a newsroom either; he’s put together many news packages for Roosevelt High, CART, and The Rampage over the years and is more than comfortable with conducting an interview or being the handyman on set. Logan can’t work on anything without being meticulous, and this eye for detail makes him a wonderful asset to the team.
This is Logan’s fourth semester with The Rampage, and he likes to spend his time on campus productively. When he’s not in class, he’s in the library catching up on schoolwork or building a narrative with his team in The Rampage newsroom.

Another thing Justin wants to learn from The Rampage is the real world experience. He is a beginner in photography, but is excited to get better and learn how to get good at photography. He learned and knows how to make articles and cannot wait to put it to the test and meet deadlines. This is a good learning experience and a passion he wants to pursue in getting better at. Even if he does not go into sports broadcasting at least he will have the knowledge and some skills to be a journalist outside of sports. He is ready to help contribute to The Rampage this semester and will do the best he can.

In her time at the Rampage, she has helped win numerous awards. She won two fourth place awards in the on the spot competitions: front page layout and copy editing test. Last semester she redesigned the website and also designed all the prints editions.
