European DJ, Elite Force, comes to Fresno

European DJ, Elite Force, comes to Fresno

Elite Force, a well-known DJ in Europe, will tour the United States and Canada this year on his Gamechanger Tour. The second stop on the tour was Fresno’s nightclub Arena on April 13.

Simon Shackleton, also known as “sHack,” created Elite Force in 1996. His new material was released April 15 of this year. His music represents genres like techno, house and breaks while some of his influences include Sonic Youth and Chemical Brothers.

For the past four years, Elite Force has performed at the Burning Man music festival annually at the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. The festival is represented by the community through music, art and self-expression.

Elite Force’s longest tour yet, the Gamechanger Tour, included 15 different cities and 16 shows spanning a total of 16 days. Shackleton, a DJ and producer, was awarded Best Producer and Best Label from Breakspoll in 2011 and a Best Breaks Track honor from the Beatport Music Awards in 2010.

With an increased fan base here in the United States, his own versions of songs have earned more than 20,000 hits on Soundcloud. With normal shows lasting up to 4 hours, Shackleton’s longest set lasted nearly 6 hours in San Francisco last November.

Elite Force has also been featured in movies, TV shows and computer games. Some movies include “The Crow,” “Spiderman 2,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “The Matrix” and others. Television shows include “L.A. Doctors,” “CSI” and “Top Gear.” Additionally, a collaboration was recently finished with Grammy award-winning artist Moby and will be out this June.

April 4 marked the launch of Shackleton’s live one-series show where he performed in front of a crowd from around the world. A monthly United and Anarchic mixtape show was also launched with his label U and A Recordings and March 25.

Some upcoming venues include Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Boise, Seattle and Indianapolis. Elite Force’s new material includes both an A-side and a B-side. The A-side is the original mix and the B-side is the zodiac cartel mix which happens to be Elite Force’s alter ego.

This summer, Elite Force will travel between the United States and the United Kingdom going to venues in England, Australia and Germany.

Elite Force can be found on Facebook, Soundcloud, Twitter, YouTube and other social networking sites. His website, eliteforcemusic.com includes free downloads, posters, an online store and his blog as a DJ traveling around the world.
