A car accident between two vehicles occurred outside of the Fresno City College campus on E. McKinley Avenue and N. San Pablo Avenue around 2:00 p.m. on April 22 . Neither party appeared visibly injured.

According to eyewitness testimony, the driver of a Dodge Magnum stopped at the pedestrian crosswalk on N. San Pablo Avenue to let pedestrians pass and was rear-ended by a Toyota Corolla. The Corolla was being towed away with front damage to the  vehicle body and a flat tire. The Dodge received damage to the right back fender and the undercarriage.

Junior Mora, a pedestrian, was crossing the street to take his girlfriend, an FCC student, to school when the accident happened.

The driver of the Dodge Magnum, Dean Merrill, 27, stopped for Mora and his girlfriend when he was hit by the other driver.

“I slowed down, came to a stop. It was no longer than a 4-second stop and the guy rear-ended us,” he stated.

Fresno County Police were on the scene interviewing the involved parties and surveying the damage. The officer interviewing the involved parties declined to comment.

The driver of the Toyota also declined to give a statement.
