There was a familiar face on campus today. Fresno City College alumnus and FOX 26 Great Day host, Kopi Sotiropulos, came to FCC to collect video for Thursday morning’s Great Day Faces segment.

Known for his loud, colorful shirts and ties, Sotiropulos was still recognizable dressed down in white khakis, comfortable faded t-shirt and casual coat. With video camera in hand, Sotiropulos had many willing subjects for Great Day Faces as crowds of students grouped together to smile and wave and wish the San Joaquin Valley a “great day.”

Sotiropulos studied at FCC from 1966 through 1968 before transferring to San Francisco State where he earned his degree in broadcast communications.

“Give yourself a well-rounded education,” he advises FCC students. “Know as much as you can about everything.”

Most importantly, he said with the fresh, friendly smile that greets viewers every weekday morning at six, “Read everything!”
