A man was found dead Saturday in a locker room at Fresno City College as the women’s basketball team played their tournament in the gym, said State Center Community College District police chief Jose Flores.

A coach called police around 4:30 p.m. after he found the man, described as elderly, inside a shower in the men’s locker room.

Flores said he appeared to have suffered from a medical condition and was fully dressed when he was found.

The investigation remains ongoing, but there are no signs of foul play or a struggle. The man may have been homeless, Flores said.

The locker rooms in the gym were opened for bathroom access when the basketball tournament began at 3 p.m., Flores said, and the man may have entered to use the shower.

The tournament was not affected, but the men’s locker room was closed off.

Hello well strongly believe that we as students at Fresno city college need to be well watched over.for the simple fact that we are just trying to make our lives a better living with some college that we can establish and to accomplish our goals.but with these crime taking action on our campus how can we do so.we need to be safe and protected at the same time while we are taking our courses at all hours of the day.

How does this ELDERLY man dying in the mens locker room affect your safety? Or the Safety of anyone else? It doesnt.

Your response to this story is shameful. The man found dead was elderly and homeless. This is not an issue regarding campus security, rather an issue regarding our collective community response to adequately address homelessness.

This Story Is About An Elderly Man Found Dead.. With Indications Of Succumbing To A Medical Condition.
If You Call That A Crime.. & Are As Heartless As You Sounded.. Then Maybe You Should ‘Watch Over’ Yourself.

There wasn’t really a crime committed that is known of yet. If a homeless man walks into a bathroom and dies of a medical condition, like a heart problem, I dont see how that puts you in danger or stops you from getting an education. Comments like yours is why this problem arose. Homeless are sent out from shelters and forced to constantly move around because of the camping law that is in effect. Not all homeless are bad people or addicts. So if that was going to be your next response please refrain from suck. Maybe if people stopped complaining and being selfish, action could be taken to better all parties not just those who aren’t homeless. Also, fresno city college has a wide number of homeless students who are taking course to get themselves out of the situation they are in. He could have posaible been a student for all we know.

It seems to me…FCC needs better security on campus!…it wasn’t not long ago, a man entered the grounds & stoled a substitute backpack sitting inside a classroom … with her identity, cell phone & wallet inside the backpack!…😎

It seems to me that security cannot be everywhere all the time. This was probably a homeless person who had no intention of harming anyone.
