Clinton: A Change We Don’t Need

Is Hillary Clinton the change we need?

I think not unless you would like to pay more taxes than you ever paid before. In her speech on Monday at Fresno High School, Clinton failed to convince me to support her presidential aspirations. I am convinced that even though many would be swayed because Hillary is a woman, I insist we deserve better, even if it means electing another man.

One major concern is Hillary’s financial plans. She stated that if elected in 2008, she plans to spend billions of dollars on advanced solar panels across the U.S. The only way we would afford a fraction of those panels is by raising taxes. Clinton also said that Bush put the country into a major debt crisis which she will somehow solve. I don’t understand how she will be able to get us out of our debt problem and still buy the expensive solar panels at the same time.

Hillary Clinton will also expand the size of our government and ruin some of the best features in our society. For example, she prefers a health care system solely run by the government. If you take a look at some of the things that are ran by the government, like the DMV, Post Office, Community Hospitals, and our public schools, you might change your mind on having the government be in control of something else of ours. Every time the government gets their hands on something, they ruin it. Our public school system in America is horrible; that is a prime example of we shouldn’t have the government in charge of our health care.

As a woman, I want a woman to be president, but Hillary does not meet the standard we want for a person holding the greatest office in our nation. I had an opportunity to speak to many women at the rally. Most said that they were voting for Hilary because it was time that we got a woman in charge at the white house. I believe that a woman in the White House would be a refreshing change for the country, but Hillary is not the woman for the job. The fact that she is woman that has enough balls to run, is not reason enough to give her your vote. I believe that if Hillary Clinton were a man, she would not have nearly as many followers. We shouldn’t settle for Hillary just because we don’t have any other women to choose from.

We want the best for our country. Hillary Clinton is not who we need at this time.
