“2007 MTV Video Music Awards”

What a night! In Las Vegas all the celebrities and their guests came for the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA). The night was full of surprises, from guest appearances and Performances. The weather was great and the stars looked incredible. The talk of the night was none other than the Tabloid pop princess Britney spears, she opened the show with her new single “Gimme More.” The Performance was so unprepared and she looked like they just gave a mic and told her to lip sync her new single,(which she did) the performance was obviously not Britney, she has done great performances in the past VMAs. If you just look back 3 years ago when she and Madonna did the most infamous lip lock, now that performance and the kiss was hot. On the bright side we had other performers like Chris Brown, Foo Fighters, Kanye West and 50 Cent gave incredible performances.

My Vote: Rihannas- Umbrella this song deserves to win because everywhere you go you hear this song and it was number one for about 2 months straight in the billboard top 100. If you’ve gone ANYWHERE this summer, if you’ve even been to the grocery store, then you would know you’ve found yourself whispering “‘ellas” along with Rihanna. Undoubtedly one of the biggest and most played songs of 2007 was, “Umbrella” is everywhere.
Quadruple Threat of the year
In this category these people are great in everything that they set there minds to, from movies, music, fashion, and advocating to Aids in Africa

My Vote: All right lets give it to JT who has been having a great year with a muliti-platinum album hit singles like “Sexyback”, “My Love”, “Summerlove”, and “What goes around comes around”. This dude is non-stop with a clothing line called William Rast, and just recently opened a restaurant in New York called Southern Hospitality, talk about over achiever.
Most Earth-Shattering Collaboration
This category is really simple putting two hit artist in one song (priceless).

My Vote: I agree with MTV you put the two most beautiful girls with a lot of booty shaking in a video it is sure to be a hit and a winner. The song was a hit with the ladies that related to the song.
Male Artist of the year

My vote: In this category I really didn’t care who won this award, because I think that all the nominees deserved it with all the great hits in the past year and currently they still have been blowing up the charts. If I had to pick it would have been T.I., because he is doing his thing with the movies, and music. If you haven’t heard his cd you should go check it out, it is off the hook.
Female Artist of the year

My Vote: Another hard decision to make all of these ladies have had a great year, but I would also give it to Fergie because she blew up the radio airwaves with her hits like Fergalious, London Bridges, Glamorous and right now blowing up the radio airwaves “Big girls don’t cry”. Come on now she taught everyone how to be FLOSSY FLOSSY and to keep on staying real to herself and be Fergalious.

My Vote: I’m a fan of the song but not of the band, they have some cheesy songs. My vote would have to go to my Country Girl Carrie Underwood, because she deserved it, her album “Some Hearts” going Multi-platinum three times. That is really good for an artist that was found by the American Idol fans, she has an amazing album. And her new album coming out in Late October. She is sure to have more nominations next year.

My Vote: I would have to give it Rihanna because she did have a incredible Video. I have never seen a girl make a umbrella look so HOT! An the fireworks were off the hook.
So there you go a quick recap of what you missed if you were to busy studying for your political Science test you have tomorrow. So the big winners of the night were Justin Timberlake and Rihanna…but my opinion I think everyone tuned in to watch Britney Spears Comeback Performance. What a great Comeback Britney! Maybe she can make it up with her music Video schedule to come out in two weeks?
