FCC Men’s Soccer win in PK 4-2 after overcoming 0-2 deficit, advance to third round of the playoffs

Fresno City College Men’s Soccer win a nail- biter against Evergreen Valley, 4-2 in penalty kicks at Ratcliffe Stadium, Tuesday Nov. 25.

After being down 0-2 at half, the rams switched a few things around and tried to change the tide.

“They played more physical, we talked about it at half-time, said Head Coach Eric Solberg,
we switched formations to offensive formation because we needed to press and score and our guys responded. “

The first goal for the rams came in the 66th minute by Forward Jorge Rodriguez.

From that point on FCC was on the attack, every chance in a very physical matchup was a must.

Then Defender Charleston Chao tied the game in stoppage time with a goal, to send it into OT.

“I saw the ball and I put myself in the best position,” said Chao

In a physical match where players from both teams were shoving and getting violent with one another, the rams managed to find a way to get the game into Penalty Kicks and the rest was history.

FCC squeaked out the win, and will face the winner of Taft-Hartnell in the third round of the CCCAA MENS SOCCER NORCAL REGIONAL Saturday, November 29.
