Yes, winning is what they do, why else would they be ranked #1 in the state? The Fresno City College Men’s Basketball team powered through a victory against Porterville, ending the game with a score of 95-68. The commanding Rams clutched the treasure by halftime with a 30 point lead (54-24), leaving the Porterville Pirates treasureless in Fresno.
It was during the first half’s battle that the Rams were able to acquire a comfortable lead. In no time at all, the score was tied 12-12, then came an exciting 27-2 Rams run, which brought Rams up 39-14. Before the half, the Rams had a chance to score 15 more points while the Pirates scored only 10.
The #1 Rams eventually had a stunning 40 point lead in the second half which was reduced by Porterville towards the end of the game leaving them with only a 27 point deficit.
Helping the Rams towards victory were Compton natives Sultan Toles-Bey with 17 points and Aaron Hill with 13 points, both with four three-pointers. Bronx native, George DeLeon, added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
