Fresno City College Women’s Soccer team finished first in the Central Valley Conference of California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) for the fifth straight season with a record of 19-3-1.
The Rams went undefeated in their 16 conference games. They lost to Sierra College in the second round of the regional playoffs this season.
Oliver Germond, head coach for the women’s soccer team, has won 19 conference titles and made the playoffs every season.
“The goal is to win the conference and make it to the final four every year but unfortunately we didn’t get to the final four this year,” Germond said.
Making the playoffs and winning the conference is not only good for the team but also helps players get recognized.
“Making the final four gives us a chance to win state but is also a great opportunity for players to get recruited because a lot of four year coaches attend those games so it’s my job to train them to transfer to the next level and get scholarships to the next level,” Germond said.
After a hard fought season, the Rams will be prepared to defend the conference championship next season.
