Derek Gardner, Reporter
Derek Gardner is a 19-year-old, born and raised in Clovis California. He is currently attending Fresno City College to earn his associates for transfer in journalism. He plans on transferring to California State University, Fresno in the fall semester.
He was homeschooled all the way through high school.
Derek is planning on majoring in Mass Media Communications and has interest in video editing. In his beginning of junior year of high school, he started to go to Clovis Community College and was taking general education classes. He hopes to land a career in film and video editing.
During his free time Derek goes rock climbing at a gym called Metalmark. He enjoys going climbing with his friends or by himself and getting to know new people there. In addition, he has been rock climbing for over two years.
Derek uses his free time messing around with electronics and with the help of YouTube tutorials, and friends he successfully built his own computer. Derek likes to learn new software and enjoys being creative with Photoshop and learning premiere pro. He also enjoys staying up late playing video games with friends.
Additionally, Derek enjoys reading books, he read a four book series with each book containing 10,000 pages.
