Biz-Werx Innovation and Mobility Hub have come out with a new plan to offer students at Fresno City College access to Biz Bikes.
Last semester there were biz-bikes available for rental on campus. However, biz-bikes were removed from campus due to theft and vandalism.
Mobility Hub Director, Eric Spikes, said in an email that they needed to reconsider how they deploy the biz-bikes.
Students will now have the option to rent biz-bikes and keep them at home.
“We’re launching a library model, where you sign up for the program and you get a bike on a month to month for as long as you need, and you just keep it at home,” Spikes said.
The monthly rate for students is $15 a month with a $30 refundable deposit.
According to Spikes, after one signs up, Biz-Werx will personally deliver a bike to your house, apartment, or work for free.
“As soon as you sign up, we will arrange delivery of the bike to wherever you live and you hang on to it until you’re done and we will come pick it up,” Spikes said.
