Fresno City College’s Student Activities Returns to Campus for Fall Semester

“Honestly, I had very little hesitation, if any at all, to return to campus. Like many others, we worked through the duration of the closure virtually. It was a difficult adjustment for me, but if it wasn’t for working for Student Activities, it could have been even more difficult,” said Holly Curtis, a Student Activities staff-member.

Curtis, who has worked at Student Activities since January of 2020, shared that in her many years of work she had never worked a job like this before.

When she began here, there were over 30 student staff members from all walks of life with many different skill sets and experiences.

“Although we are a much smaller group at the moment, we still carry on these traditions, if you would, and we work well as a team to get all tasks accomplished in a timely manner. This is what I miss the most,” Curtis said.

Therefore, the return to campus is a welcome change to their routine with little hesitation.

There was only excitement and joy at the thought of meeting and helping fellow students again.

“Being back on campus has been amazing! Seeing so many familiar faces has been comforting and helping my fellow colleagues has been so rewarding,” Roberto Damian, an employee with Student Activities, said.

“I miss the people, I miss being able to help lost students find their class or figure out how to navigate the campus, I miss the staff, I miss the in-person services,” Luis Villa Figueroa, another Student Activities employee, said.
