Police and ambulances surround a vehicle after it became the target of a drive-by shooting, Tuesday Jan. 12, 2015.

One person was injured in a drive-by shooting near Fresno City College Tuesday night.

According to local media, reports of shots fired came in around 9:44 p.m. at the parking lot of the Carl’s Jr. on the corner of Blackstone and McKinley, near Fresno City College.

The driver of a white vehicle was shot in the arm and a female passenger was not harmed. It is still not clear if the victims were FCC students.

Authorities say a black SUV opened fire on the white vehicle as it made its way into the Carls Jr. parking lot.

After the shooting, the white vehicle reportedly drove onto the FCC campus, stopping near the faculty office building.

Police say they found approximately 16 shell casings from a handgun on the scene.

Word of the incident quickly got out to social media, where around 6, 000 people were reached, some concerned students left wondering if the college would still hold class the next day.
