The Fresno City College baseball team won 22 out of 23 conference games.
The fourth championship victory not only recognizes the team’s achievement but also boosts the program’s reputation, attracting potential players and supporting the department financially.
In the Ram’s final regular season game in the conference, it beat the Reedley College Baseball team 6-1 on Tuesday April 15. This season, its record at home is 19-1 while the record on the road is 12-3.
The victory enhanced FCC’s reputation and fostered a sense of pride among students, faculty, staff, alumni and the broader Fresno community.
Head baseball coach Mitchell Karraker is pleased with the team’s progress this season and looks forward to the playoffs.
“The number one goal for this season was to win a state championship and the other goal was to win a conference championship and we did that,” Karraker said.
For his third season, Karraker recently coached the Rams to its 27th league championship.
He said that the players have been working hard since the fall to prepare for the season.
“We practice at a high level and it’s super competitive and the team does a really good job,” Karraker said.
Karraker looks forward to watching the team in the playoffs after their hard work to win the conference championship.

Right-handed pitcher and business major Jonah Fragus feels amazing the Rams came out and won together.
“It means a lot to me actually. We work hard every day we come out here,“ Fragus said.
Catcher and kinesiology major, Bo Rico feels awesome about winning with the team.
“It’s awesome, man. I mean, with these group of guys, these are my best friends. Just to be able to do it with them,“ Rico said.
Left-handed pitcher and kinesiology major, Michael Klein explained how hard it is to win a CVC championship.
“To come out every day and beat your league opponent every day, it’s pretty hard to do, and to come out on top, number one,” Klein said.
It is the end of the season, but the Rams are currently in round 2 of the state playoffs with its first game being on May 8.
