Sophia Wilson, Reporter
Sophia Wilson is a 19-year-old, Fresno born and raised, sophomore at Fresno City College, thrilled to begin her journey with The Rampage. She is currently double majoring in Business Administration and Journalism, with plans to transfer to a four-year university next year to pursue a degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations. Sophia aspires to build a career in public relations and believes that a strong foundation in journalism is essential to understanding media from the inside out.
In high school, Sophia fell in love with theater production and has since become deeply involved in both campus and community theatre. At FCC, she worked on Hand to God as part of the backstage crew and served as Assistant Stage Manager for Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play. She has also stage-managed several productions, including Peter and the Starcatcher, Harvey, and Anything Goes at Bullard High School. Beyond campus, Sophia is expanding her presence in the local theatre scene. She recently stage-managed What the Constitution Means to Me with UR Theatre Company, ran sound for Seussical the Musical with Selma Arts Center, and operated spotlight for Hadestown Jr. at Selma Arts Center. Upcoming credits include stage-managing FCC’s Salome and Switch Cabaret.
This is Sophia’s first semester formally studying journalism, and she brings to it a mix of curiosity and excitement. When she’s not in the theater, you can usually find her in the library with homework spread across the table, wishing she was reading a book while listening to the rain.

Joel Arellano, Social Media Editor
Joel Arellano is 19 years old and was born in Clovis, California but raised in Fresno. This is his second semester at the rampage and is returning as the social media editor. He is currently in his second year of college majoring in child development with a minor in journalism. however, after joining the rampage in the spring 2025, he extremely enjoyed his work there and might make journalism his main one.
He grew up in a large family of eight siblings and is the third oldest. He is also a boyfriend, Tio, and to a godfather to his niece. He also owns four pets, two dogs named Minnie and Hydie, and two cats named Evie and Franco. Joel doesn’t have a lot of little journalism experience, but he loves to write in his free time and is eager to gain even more experience as he plans on sticking around next semester.
When Joel isn’t recording, editing, or posting for the rampage he is playing video games on his PS5, reading comic books, and spending time with his family. He also loves film and the process of filmmaking and hopes to work on a film one day. Film is something Joel would like to major in after he gets his degree in child development or journalism. He hopes his experience from handling social media will help with filmmaking.
