Marissa Rivas, 18, is a first-year student at Fresno City College pursuing a major in Film and Editing who was born and raised in Fresno. From a young age, Marissa has been fascinated by storytelling and the power of visual media to convey emotion and meaning. She has hands-on experience with editing and creating short films for 7 years and currently uses the software app Adobe After Effects to create her projects. Her passion for film extends as she spends time analyzing movies, learning from each scene, and figuring out how she can apply those techniques to her own projects. Outside of film and editing, Marissa is an avid content creator on social media with an audience of 300K followers, where she shares relatable and humorous posts that resonate with her audience. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, drawing, painting, watching true crime documentaries, spending cozy days watching movies and eating Taco Bell. In 10 years, she sees herself being a successful film director with her own film production and being on the Hollywood star. Marissa is excited to bring her passion for film to the Rampage and fellow classmates as she is eager to make a positive impact in her first year here at Fresno City College.
