A Fresno City College instructor was arrested on June 14, after allegedly threatening an FCC dean, their family, and “all students on campus” Tuesday, according to a warning issued by the State Center Community College District Police Department.

Richard G. Fine was taken into custody Wednesday morning by the Fresno Police Department, according to a statement released by the FCC public information office.

According to the warning, Fine was off campus when he made multiple calls and texts to a dean threatening violence to students and staff causing a brief lockdown on campus.

ABC30 reported Wednesday that Fine was on a 72-hour medical hold and will be arrested after his release.

In the statement from SCCCD police, students, faculty, and staff were told, “If you see Fine on the FCC campus, we urge you not to confront him; instead, call SCCCD PD immediately.”

Fine is a costume design instructor for FCC’s Fine, Performing, and Communication Arts division. According to FCC Public Information Officer Kathy Bonilla, his arrest will not impact any current classes.

The identity of the dean involved has not been released by SCCCD police.
