The Mission Asset Fund, a nonprofit based in San Francisco, is offering scholarships to immigrants who are eligible to renew their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status before the Oct. 5 deadline.

To apply, visit lc4daca.org by Sept. 29 and fill out a questionnaire. Proof of a current DACA expiration date of March 5, 2018 or sooner is also required.

A check for the $495 renewal fee made out to the Department of Homeland Security will be overnighted to the address provided, and can then be mailed in along with the application, according to the website.

Funding for the scholarships is provided by the Weingart Foundation, the Irvine Foundation, The Marin Community Foundation, The Chavez Family Foundation and The City of San Francisco Office of Immigration and Civic Affairs.
