Coach’s Corner: Health tips from volleyball head coach Tracy Ainger-Schulte

Staying healthy is a constant concern for college students. Head basketball coaches Brian Tessler and Ed Madec have weighed in on how college  students can make changes to their lifestyle in order to be more healthy.

They agree students should exercise daily, drink lots of water, to  avoid fast food and late night snacking.

Now, Head Volleyball Coach Tracy Ainger-Schulte shares her perspective.

  • “Everyone should eat breakfast every morning, you can start the day right with a lot of energy for those long days of work, and school.”
  • “ No Nutrient dense food, cut out fast foods and soda.”
  • “Try not to skip or go long periods without eating.”
  • “Take in the right amount of calories.”
  • “20-30 minutes of exercise a day, go for a walk or do sit-ups, a quick workout to get your blood pumping.”
  • “Get a good 8 hours of sleep every night, if you don’t it can suffer with your class schedule, work or even playing a sport.”
  • “Continue to eat healthy.”
