Fresno City College Womens Soccer tie in season home opener against College of the Canyons

Fresno City College womens soccer teams season is underway, after a 0-0 tie against College of Canyons on August 27 at Ratcliffe Stadium.

With the game scoreless going deep into the second half, FCC forward Rianna Chavez had the team’s best chance to score during this game with a shot on Canyons goal at the 70 minute mark

Forward Jannely Rangel also had a chance at the net 92 minutes into the game

“We played a really good game today, we gave up a few possessions on the backend.” said Head Coach Oliver Germond.

FCC had a lot holes to fill after the departures from last season’s Central Valley Conference championship team, having 10 players go to 4 year schools.

“We had a lot of freshman play defensively for us. They were excited to play after 2 months of practice,” said Germond.

Goalkeeper Maria Magana had four saves for the Rams.
