Last Saturday, “The Echoes from the Theatre II” was performed in the theatre by most of professors of the music department at Fresno City College.

Hoping to fundraise for the new auditorium, the concert proceeds were given to help fund the construction. Over 150 people assisted the classical concert, in which excellent music was enjoyed and performed by various professors. The concert initiated with the song “William Tell Overture” by G. Rossini/arr. Gottschalk. It was performed by Clifford Badgley on vocals and Marcia Klinder Badgle on the piano.

The trio composed by the voices of Kathy Barba, Julie Dana, and Rebecca Sarkisian performed “The Magic Flute” by W. A. Mozart. They were accompanied by Matthew Horton on the piano.

Instruments were an essential element of the concert; the trumpet was played by Dale Engstrom, the clarinet was played by Lorence Honda, and the guitar was played by Steve Delgado. Delgado interpreted two songs “La Golondrina” and “La Llorona” that made everyone reminisce.

The president of Fresno City College Dr. Cynthia Azari attended the concert. One of her favorite melodies was “La Llorona.” “It was beautiful and they were really talented.” Azari said.

The concert gave end with a melody by H Warren/M. Gorden, “There Will Never be Another You.” The song was performed by Mike Dana on the guitar, Dale Engstrom on the trumpet, and Nye Morton on the bass.

This is the second time that all faculty members presented a concert. The last concert was played two years ago, and it may be possible to enjoy this production this upcoming winter.

All faculty members were able to select their own music and work together to present a night filled with melody. Unfortunately Olga Quercia was unable to present her melody “Two Tangos” by A. Piazzolla, due to health conditions.

Hord felt overjoyed with the outcome of this concert. “I encourage students to come to the events presented at FCC and enjoy the music that is being presented,” Hord said.
