FCC Students are the Biggest Losers when it comes to Politics

We see everyday the Presidential Candidates on television, but seeing a presidential candidate outside your flat screen in your neighborhood, and wants to help the central valley is a great experience. Hillary Clinton came to the central valley with one goal, and that was to talk to the Fresno City College students. But the FCC administration made it difficult for the Clinton Camp to visit the campus with unsubstantiated excuses. Telling the Clinton camp that parking would be hectic, construction was going on, also it would disturb class time. All these excuses were false or unsubstantiated, due to the fact that parking is already hectic everyday, their was not construction going on that week, and FCC could have had it in the gym, that would not disturb any class at all. The students would have the choice to go to that event. The FCC administration were not great at making lies, to the Clinton Camp. But they have got the vibe that FCC administration did not want them at all in their campus. But it is not their campus it is OUR campus, the community because we are a Community College.

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity because Fresno has very strong republican voters, and to see a major Democrat Candidate come to the central valley is really rare to see. Why didn’t Hillary Clinton come to the campus? Was it a personal reason? Did one of the administrators take personal decision and not ask other higher authority about the decisions or their thoughts?
With rampage reporters doing some investigation they found out the Administrator who made the not so bright decision, was the Executive Director of Legislative and Public Affairs Teresa Patterson who had made the unthoughtful decision.

This woman had no right to go do what she felt was her obligation and take our Freedom of Speech, and hear this canadate on what she stand on college students. We are all adults at this college, we can all vote, so why the denial to this Presidential Canadate at this community college? I feel that Mrs. Patterson made a personal decision and did not think
About the FCC students.
She defends herself with Education Code 7054, that prevented any Political Figure to come to the State Center Community College District (SCCCD). But that is not a good excuse because Santa Barbara City College hosted Senator Obama. Now why couldn’t we have Clinton at Fresno City College? Past admistrators have had politicians come to the school and visit. This was a missed opportunity and we are now the biggest losers due to the fact that now we can not have any Presidential candidate visit this campus, because as a campus we will seem bias towards candidate that want to visit FCC

I just feel that Patterson action was just none caring. She obvious didn’t think of the students on campus. . Most of the admintrators work for the students. The experience would have been really great for most of the students because many would have heard Clinton speak. But thanks to Patterson that didn’t happen,now we can’t have a republican here on campus either. So now were screwed on both sides.

I feel that Patterson should be punished for the action that she had made.
She is certainly not thinking about the student’s well being and making poor decisions for the FCC students. She feels as if she did a right thing, and did it for the best interest of the FCC Students. Well she has got it all wrong because that decision was not for the best of this campus. Thank you Mrs. Patterson for ruining our chances of ever seeing any Presidential Candidate in the near future. You have taught the students at FCC that voting is not important by your actions that you have taken. You have made this whole campus the biggest losers of missing a great opportunity.
