Fashionable Winter Wear on a Budget

Has frivolous summer spending got you clenching onto your pennies this fall?  With winter rapidly approaching the time to stock up on warm clothing is here.  But what if your budget isn’t ready? Here are a few budget friendly places you can go to stock up on warmer clothes this year.
Plato’s Closet- Located conveniently across from the Fashion Fair Mall, Plato’s closet is a consignment shop for young women and men. They not only carry the latest gently used fashions; they also will buy them from you as well. “We pay 30 to 40 percent (per item) of what the clothes will sell for in our store,” explains  a store employee. “Also, if you decide to trade your clothes for our clothes we give you the 30 to 40 percent plus 10 percent off your purchase.”  Although the store only received two and one half stars on Google reviews, the store contained lots of inexpensive clothes to suit every style. You can put together an outfit for under $40. We paired a $7 Obey  “Save Haiti” tee, with a pair of American Eagle Skinny Jeans for $10, $4 American eagle orange wedge Mary Janes,  and a military blazer—an entire outfit for a total of $31.
Old Navy has been around for ages and according to their store manager the upcoming sales will be just as good as always. The manager anticipates a sale of up to 50 percent off Old Navy outerwear.
It’s true. You can surely “dress for less” at Ross discount stores. We found an Energie striped tunic sweater, which could be worn with either a $5 pair of leggings or a $12.99 pair of DKNY jeans, a $24 BCBG Max Azaria motorcycle jacket, and a $9.99 pair of Doll House riding boots.
Target is not just for purchasing household items. They carry name brand converse clothing and much more. The best thing about this store is the clearance racks! Their $5 Merona brand cropped cardigan would compliment any staple tee, which can be found on clearance for $4.48.
You can’t forget about the constant sales at Forever 21. Right now, a quarter-sleeve leopard print burnout top is $12.64 and perfect for winter.  If you put a burnout top underneath one of their hooded fair isle ponchos (on sale for $19.84) and rock it with a pair of cable knit leggings for $8.99 you have a snug winter outfit that your wallet can appreciate.
See, you don’t have to let your wallet reflect your wardrobe!
